The Landscaper's and Florists Dream Iris; Probably the most overlooked iris in commerce today. Ranging in height from 36 to 60 inches with a vast array of colors. Excellent landscape plants that can be left in place for long periods of time without dividing. Stalks can be cut in advance and held in storage for days before using in arrangements. Easy to grow and virtually disease and pest free.

2008 Introductions
We want to thank Joe Ghio for allowing us to introduce the following 2 Spurias for your garden pleasure.

Dungeon-[Joe Ghio-2008]-Sdlg. 99-264-A-SPU-36"-M - We are extremely excited about Dungeon.  After comparing it to every dark spuria intro we could find, we are quite certain that it is the darkest spuria introduction to date.  The ruffled standards are purple black.  The ruffled and fluted black falls have a small gold signal at the style arms.  This one will be very popular and supplies are not unlimited.  Order early.  Handsome Is X Missouri Iron Ore. $50.00

Power Trip-[Joe Ghio-2008]-Sdlg. 99-264-C-SPU-36"-M - Power Trip is a full sib to Dungeon.  The ruffled standards are dark purple.  The ruffled falls are purple black with burnt gold rays overlaid over most the petals.  This one is a real show stopper that Jim says should do some wonderful things in the dark top spuria lines of hybridizing.  Handsome Is X Missouri Iron Ore. $40.00

It is our pleasure to introduce the following  4 irises for Charlie Jenkins.
Galaxy Lord-[B.C. Jenkins-2008]-Sdlg. CK-39-A-SPU-30"-M - Galaxy Lord is the first of three new intros for Charlie that are coming from his crosses for miniature spurias.  The ruffled standards are pale purple with yellow highlights at the bases.  The heavily ruffled falls are red brown with medium yellow rays extending over 3/4 of the petals.  Galaxy Lord is small flowered on shorter stalks and is very much in proportion to its size. Parentage lost, from controlled crosses. $40.00
Heaven Bound-[B.C. Jenkins-2008]-Sdlg. CJL-47-D-SPU-32"-ML - This seedling was selected from one of Charlie's crosses that Jim raised from seeds.  It is, indeed, Heaven Bound with us.  The heavily ruffled standards and fluted falls are medium blue-violet with a medium yellow signal patch covering 3/4 of the petals.  Florets fade quickly to a paler medium blue.  Slight sweet fragrance.  Irene Benton X CA75A: (BJ08G: (Lively One X Diminuendo) X Popped Corn). $40.00
No Mas Dinero-[B.C. Jenkins-2008]-Sdlg. CQ-98-B-SPU-29"-M - It is no secret that Jim feels there are too many yellow spurias being introduced.  He says this one reflects his feelings in the name.  He does feel that we should introduce this one because it is from Charlie's miniature cross lines.  We don't know of a small gold spuria in commerce.  This one is nicely ruffled and quite in proportion with its height and flower size.  Pee Wee Pete X Missouri Star. $40.00
Overwhelmed-[B.C. Jenkins-2008]-Sdlg. CK-81-B-SPU-29"-M - The third miniature from Charlie's lines overwhelms us with the amount of ruffles and lace it exhibits from its parent Butter Ripples.  Standards are ruffled and laced off white.  Falls are medium yellow with narrow 1/8" rims of off white.  We think this is one of the best laced intros to be produced so far.  Add to that its perfect miniature stature and it can't go wrong.  Irene Benton X Butter Ripples. $40.00

2007 Introductions

Line Dancing-[B.C. Jenkins by Jim Hedgecock-2007]Sdlg. CJM-3B-SPU-37"-EM- We picked this seedling from a whole row of absolutely beautiful siblings.  The lightly ruffled standards are dark purple.  Falls are dark purple with a small yellow signal patch at the style arms that changes to white rays that radiate over the upper 2/3 of the petals, thus giving an effect of radiating lines.  Stalks have superb branching and bud count of seven.  Named for the popular country western dance.  Bordertown X 90M124A (From Crocea seeds) $30.00
Prime Contender-[B.C. Jenkins by Jim Hedgecock-2007]Sdlg. CJL-58C-SPU-37"-M- Jim admits to eating crow over this seedling.  He has been on the bandwagon about too many yellows and whites being introduced.  In our opinion, Prime Contender is as near to perfection in bloom quality as we have seen.  The wide, ruffled standards are white with green rays at the midribs.  Falls are ruffled and fluted white with a medium yellow spray pattern extending out over the upper 1/2 of the petals.  Excellent stalks with a bud count of 5.  Look Lively X Alphaspu. $40.00 SOLD OUT
Red Won-[B.C. Jenkins by Jim Hedgecock-2007]Sdlg. CJL-61A-SPU-36"-EM- Not brown, but red.  This seedling has been a favorite of Jim's ever since it first bloomed.  High profile garden appeal is the order of the day for this intro.  The moderate sized blooms are dark red with a yellow spray pattern that extends out over the upper 2/3 of the falls.  Red Won is one of our favorites and it will be yours also.  C16-9H: (Happy Choice X Equality) X Iris Carthaliniae. $30.00

2006 Introductions

It is our pleasure to introduce the following  4 irises for Charlie Jenkins.

Cowboy Country-[B.C. Jenkins by Jim Hedgecock-2006]Sdlg. CJL-4A-SPU-34"-M- We knew this one just had to have a western related name when we saw it's first bloom.  The beautiful ruffled yellow-brown florets are adorned with a golden yellow spray signal pattern on the upper 1/3 of the falls.  Immaculate flower form and a bud count of 5 to 6 round out this near perfect spuria.  Slight sweet fragrance.  Why not bring Cowboy Country to your garden?  Full sib to Tiffany May.  In Depth X Dandelite.  $40.00 SOLD OUT
Edith Mae-[B.C. Jenkins-2006]Sdlg.  CK-81-A-SPU-42"-ML- Edith Mae is named for Charlie's sister.  It has been an excellent grower both here and in Arizona.  The ruffled standards are lavender.  The falls are ruffled and fluted bright yellow with lavender rims.  Excellent stalks with bud count of 5 to 6.  This new pastel will be well liked in arrangements.  Irene Benton X Butter Ripples. $30.00
Rhett's Surprise-[B.C. Jenkins-2006]Sdlg. CC-28-A-SPU-28"-E- Rhett's Surprise is named for Charlie's great grandson.  This cute little spuria is destined for glory.  The in proportion florets are perfect and bud count is good at 5 to 7.  The standards are dark red with a faint gold stripe on the midribs.  Falls are dark red with a dark yellow signal patch radiating out to cover the upper 2/3 of the petals.   A shorter variety that will be quite popular.  Bronzing X Belissiando.  $30.00
Tiffany May-[B.C. Jenkins by Jim Hedgecock-2006]Sdlg. CJL-4C-SPU-36"-ML- This one is named for Charlie's daughter-in-law.  This one is heavily ruffled medium blue with a bright yellow signal patch covering the upper 2/3 of the falls.  Falls are fluted also.  This modern formed spuria will set standards for excellent form and stalks.  A full sib to Cowboy Country.

$40.00 SOLD OUT

Previous Introductions

My Sprite-(B.C. Jenkins by Jim Hedgecock-2005)sdlg. CJL-47A-28"-M-My Sprite comes from recent crosses of Charlie's lines of miniature spurias.  Stature is somewhat short with excellent smaller sized florets that fit the stalk and foliage.  The lightly ruffled standards are medium lavender.  Ruffled falls are lavender with a bold yellow steeple signal and yellow veins radiating out from the signal.  There is also a fine wire rim of yellow at the edges.  A beautiful new small spuria that just begs to be your sprite.  Irene Benton X CA75A: (BJO8G: (Lively One x Diminuendo) x Popped Corn). $30.00 SOLD OUT

Touch of Love-(B.C. Jenkins by Jim Hedgecock-2005)sdlg. CJL-47E-32"-M-Touch of Love is a full sibling to My Sprite but is more in the larger spuria category.  Larger florets and taller stalks are the norm here.  The perfect ruffled standards are medium blue-violet.  Falls are ruffled blue-violet with a huge yellow signal patch covering most of the falls.  The creator certainly added a Touch of Love to this beauty.  Slight sweet fragrance.  Irene Benton X CA75A: (BJO8G: (Lively One x Diminuendo) x Popped Corn). $30.00 SOLD OUT
Sonoran Nightfall-(Floyd Wickenkamp-2004)Sdlg. SP-90-3-38"-ML-Floyd contacted us last fall and asked us to introduce his last introduction for him.  It is our honor to do so.  We were absolutely in love with this one.  The standards are lavender blue with center veins of yellow.  Stylearms are tipped lavender.  The falls are yelloew shading to a 1/2" lavender blue rim and darker veining overall.  We are working on Floyd to do more, we will see what happens.  For now, he says it is his last.  What a beautiful iris to stop on.  Sonoran Caballero X Now This.  $30.00 Limited Stock for 2006

Doris Irene

Doris Irene-(B.C. Jenkins-2003)Sdlg. BJ-33-A-33"-L-Charlie named this excellent new spuria for his wife.  The standards are medium, vibrant royal blue.  Falls are ruffled royal blue with a cream white blaze and bright yellow signals.  Matching blue stylearms.  Flaring formed flowers.  Superb bud count of 7 to 8 makes for a long bloom season.  You will like this one.  BJ-33-A: (I. musulmanica x Guiseppe sib.).  $10.00

Ice Glow

Ice Glow-(B.C. Jenkins-2003)Sdlg. 89K-116-A-M-There are a lot of white based spurias, but this one is just different.  The white in the standards appears to have no pigment sectors.  Falls are icy white with a small yellow signal splash.  May be a breeder for spurias with no signals.  Ice Glow is a very fitting name for this one.  Unknown parentage.  From a packet of SIGNA seeds.  $10.00 SOLD OUT
Final Day - (B.C. Jenkins - 2003)-Sdlg. BU-36-E-33"-L - Several spuria lovers that visited our garden have described this seedling as outstanding.  Wide modern form is the order of the day.  The ruffled standards are dark purple.  Wide, ruffled falls have a large yellow splash with purple lines radiating to narrow purple margins.  Purple stylearms.  We predict stardom for this one.  BU-36-E: (Universal Peace x Tiny Lou). $15.00 SOLD OUT

Guest Appearance

Guest Appearance-(B.C. Jenkins-2002)-30-36"-M-The sleeper in last year's introductions.  Grows like bad weeds.  Everyone wanted this one last year.  We introduced it as a bonus iris, but the public said we should have sold it.  The standards are starch white with a touch of yellow at midribs.  Heavily ruffled falls are again very clean white with a large yellow signal covering 2/3 of each fall.  How about a Guest Appearance in your garden?  $12.50  SOLD OUT
Strike Zone- (B.C. Jenkins - 2002) - 35-48"-M- Superb garden spuria that just can't seem to get enough praise.  The ruffled standards are deep rich maroon.  Falls are ruffled and flaring, plush maroon with a bold, bright yellow spot that radiates in yellow rays over 3/4 of the falls length.  Every one should have a Strike Zone in their garden. $12.50
